On May 9, the National Association of Letter Carriers will be holding its annual National Food Drive- this is GREAT NEWS. Just leave food pantry donations outside of your front door, and your letter carrier will pick them up. The donations are then distributed to local food banks, pantries, and shelters. Can it be any easier?
So who wants to stretch a few bucks for their local food pantry? I hope that I've been able to give a quick snapshot into how a few dollars, thoughtfully combined with sales and coupons, can go a long way for neighbors in need.
If you feel a tug to participate, leave a comment in the comments section. You don't have to share the dollar amount you plan to stretch, but remember, a little bit has huge potential.
Between now and May 9, I'll post my food pantry finds to help make the hunt a little easier.
Let's do it!

It's a great week to stock up at Shaw's!!
This Thursday night, the Weymouth Food Pantry is having a "Taste Weymouth & Merchants Night" 6:30-8:30. $5 pp for the Food Pantry (kids under 12 are free). They are also accepting food donations. I think we're going to hit it up since my freak toddlers don't go to sleep until the 8 o'clock hour.
sounds like a great challenge!! :)
I always enjoy the letter carriers' food drive because it's so easy. You don't have to remember to take it anywhere, just leave it by the mailbox! But this year I will try to stretch my dollars further and see how much more I can get with couponing. I enjoy reading your helpful tips.
I think this blog is AMAZING...I totally appreciate all the advice you give on helping me and my family, as well as, the reminder to help others. I think you are one pretty cool chick!!
