If Shaws is Nearby,

This week is KILLER for cheap and free stuff.

They're having a General Mills/Unilever promo this week... spend $30 on PRE-SALE prices, get a $15 coupon for your next purchase. Oh yeah!

There are a million ways to work this deal, but I'm going to start simple, and with things we need. This is my husband's furlough month, and the budget is super tight- so I need to make deals like this work hard for the old family right now.

Here's my plan:
(2) Skippy Peanut Butters (Presale $5.18 on sale for $4) -$1 off 2 (from paper)= 2 for $3
(2) Chex Bars (Presale $7.58, on sale for $6)- (2) .60 (will double)= 2 for $3.60
(4) Yoplait Yo +(Presale $11.96, on sale for $10)- (4) $1 (from paper) = 4 for $6
(2) Fiber One Yogurt (Presale $5.98, onsale for $5) - BOGO (cereal box) and $1 (from paper) = 2 for $2.50

So, after sale prices and coupons, I'll score all of that for $14.10, then get a $15 coupon for my next purchase.

So people, go get your fliers and make a plan!

Super Smart Shoppers: Does anyone know if I can roll these cats (coupons?)

The catalinas you get in the grocery store {usually} can always be rolled. And also check with your store, when they have sales like this and say $30 and get $15 back, there is often a smaller amount you can also reach and just get a lesser amount back (like spend $20 and get $10 or $15 and get $7) they just don't print all the possibilities in the ad...it is a way to get you to buy more that you maybe don't need...

If that is the case, try a smaller transaction first, then roll your catalina to see if you get another catalina...you should get one for each set of transactions.

Hope this helps!

A warning...I just tried the catalina with $32.81 presale price and no cat was generated. I got:
2 honey nut cheerios (12oz)
2 Lipton soup mixes
2 fiber one bars
2 all & mighty detergents
1 degree ultra

No cat...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I did 2 rounds today. Both worked Pre-sale. Yes, you can roll them but I felt guilty today and I've had bad luck lately so I didn't try.

Final verdict: Spent $36, got $30 OYNP coupons. Some non-cat stuff too. I went to the Shaw's you'd probably go to.

I always roll over my CATs at Shaw's. I always look for a teenage boy cashier (they always seem to fear me).

Still figuring out my strategy. I typically work the deal once to see if it works presale. I checked Slickdeals and no one seems to reporting items not working. Slickdeals is great for tips like that. Sometimes one small product doesn't work and messes everything up. But again I see no reports of items not working.

I am hearing that you can stack the the deal - if you spend $60 in one transaction you'll get two $15 CATs. I like this as it saves me time. It's easy to rack up $60 presale.

Yes! You can double it up! I just blogged about my trip last night. My summary was: $20.05 OOP, Earned $35 OYNP. Total before savings was $101!
