Here's the deal...
Getting serious about saving cash at the grocery store means changing the way you shop.
Right now, I have 20 sticks of butter in my freezer. That's a lot. I dig butter, but I can't eat that much, like, oh, THIS WEEK.
I have 20 sticks of butter because I got them dirt cheap a few weeks back. They were on sale before Thanksgiving, and I happened to have coupons. I'm pretty sure I paid about .50 for each 4 pack. That's cheap. When I got them home, I had a little "What do I do with all this freakin' butter?!" moment, so I wrapped it in foil and froze it. It's great.
These days, my groceries look really weird as they slide down the checkout belt... 4 5lb bags of sugar, 6 boxes of Fiber One cereal, 4 1/2 gallons of OJ... there are usually a large quantity of a few things.
By buying lots of an item when it's really inexpensive, I have cut costs and simplified my life. In the basement, I have pretty much accumulated a small convenience store. Weird? Sure. But, there is always something to make for dinner or bake for church, and we never run out of paper towels or toilet paper anymore. True, my family members laugh their butts off, but they always have 10 or 12 cereals to choose from when they stay over.
So clear off a shelf in the pantry or basement, you're going to need some room. :)

I clipped away last night. Still having a hard time clipping Qs I don't think I'll ever use. I had a back stock of Qs from last 3-4 wks. Who-hoo
