Day 3.

Day 3 and we're still going strong... We're starting to run low on fresh fruits and veggies- hopefully our CSA will be good to go on Thursday.

My two year old had pretty much quit eating last week, so I've had to be creative with what I make him for dinner. Getting vegetables, or anything healthy in him, has been a challenge. (Anyone have any advice?)

Tonight, he actually ate... carrots and black beans at that- (sucker!)

Spaghetti and Teeny Tiny turkey Meatballs
Pasta
Ragu sauce
1 lb ground turkey
Pureed carrots
Bread crumbs
1 egg (Crud! Another one down!)
A little ketchup

Salad

Romaine lettuce
Shredded carrots
Ranch dressing

Black Bean Brownies (Gotta get something healthy in this kid one way or another!!!)
A box of brownie mix
1 can of black beans

There were some good deals in our grocery ads this week (I live in UT).

Albertson's is doing a double coupon week, but you can only double up to $1.00 and you can only use 4 coupons per transaction. However, they have their Simple Harvest (Quaker) granola bars on sale 2/$5 and with the coupons from this weekend's circular that makes 2 boxes $1!

Another ad was for Smith's (to your Kroeger) with their Mega Deal going on again this week, however the price reduction at the register is only $3 versus last week's $5. But they have certain types of GM cereals for like $1.69 after the discount. And I have a ton of GM coupons for 75 cents off per box, making each box only 94 cents! Killer cereal deal.

If you go onto coupons.com they have other GM cereal coupons too and they should work with this deal as well.

I have heard about the brownies but I have never had the stomach to make them. How did they turn out?

I saw somewhere (can't remember or find it, sorry!) that you can sneak raw spinach into a smoothie and you can't taste it. It turns the smoothie green, but I think if you use enough brightly colored fruit, like strawberries, and don't go TOO heavy on the spinach, you probably couldn't even tell.

i had to add "sneaky" to my search!

FYI on sales and deals. At Wal-Mart (I have to shop there not much else around) is having great deals on pantry basics - canned tomatoes, beans... canned goods and the like. Deals like normally $1+ and change now .84 cents. Time to stock up...

I'm staying over and I have had the bean brownie, but if she tries to make a fish oil frappe for me, I'm outta here!
