Why I Love BJs.

Here's the thing- BJs (and I imagine other warehouse type places) can be your best friend or worst budget breaker.

BJs started out as a financial nightmare for us.

I loved the idea of shopping in bulk, but could not get out of there without spending $250, mostly on stuff we didn't need.

That all changed when I learned their coupon policy.

It's AWESOME.

BJs sends out store coupons every month to primary card holder members. The can be combined with manufacturer coupons... as many of them as individually packaged items in a box.

Confused yet?

Don't be.

I'll give you an example.

Last month, I needed chicken broth (I make a lot of soup, but you WILL NOT catch me with a chicken carcass in this house... I'm way to much of a wimp).

A 3 pack of Progresso Soup Broth boxes is usually $5.99 (I'm guessing here- I don't have my receipt).
BJs sent out a store coupon for $1.50 off of this 3 pack, making the price $3.49.
I had 3 $1 off coupons from the Sunday paper.
I used all four coupons for the one 3 pack of broth- bringing the total to .49.

Does that make sense?

Now combine this tactic with items you only NEED. Go in with a firm list. Stick to it. Do NOT be enticed with the giant smiling boxes of Starburst candy and Economy Bagel Bites- you don't need them.

Question for you...
What are a few online coupon sites that I should check out. If ou google it a whole bunch of crap comes up. Can you list 2 or 3?

I didn't realize you could stack coupon there. Once when I tried it in the self checkout the machine wouldn't let me. Does a cashier need to over ride it?

At BJs, I always go to the cashier. They have the policy posted right at the register, so you can always point to it and go, "Um, yes I can," if a grumpy person gives you grief.

Amy, check the side bar for a few. I don't print a ton because my printer bites, but those are some that yield some good ones.
